Anaperenna Shiraz Cabernet
Wine
Glaetzer Wines Anaperenna Shiraz Cabernet is sourced from exceptional Ebenezer old vines at the northern end of the Barossa Valley. The wine is typically 80% Shiraz and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.
The name is inspired by Anna Perenna, the Roman goddess of the New Year. The Romans would ask her to grant them health and longevity: one year for each glass of wine they could drink on the day.
The grapes ferment with a specific strain of neutral yeast with hand plunging thrice daily. Maturation takes place on lees over 16 months in new French and American oak. The wine is bottled unfiltered.
Almost opaque purple, Glaetzer Wines Anaperenna Shiraz Cabernet is rich and velvety with dense dark fruit flavours, supple tannins and seamless acidity. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
